Welcome to
Ashley's website. Ashley is a beautiful girl who is
living with chronic life threatening liver disease called
biliary atresia. Since her birth she has spent numerous nights
and days in and out of the hospital in the hopes that those visits
will prolong her need for a liver transplant. Biliary atresia is the
number one cause for children under the age of two to require a
liver transplant. The disease has no known cause or cure; a
liver transplant is their only hope.
Ashley's liver disease is now progressing
to the point that she will need a liver transplant in the very near
future. Her doctors feel that she will need a liver transplant
within the next 3 years. Therefore, her family created this
website to raise the necessary funds to cover a liver transplant and
to raise awareness of organ donation and biliary atresia.
Please take the time to visit all parts of
Love for Ashley. Read more about Ashley's story, get to know
her family, keep up with Ashley by reading her journal. Take a look
at the photo album (coming soon) so that you can see that despite her illness,
Ashley looks like a normal child full of life and love. Read
the story, "Welcome to Holland" for a better understanding of
"our world." Visit the links section and you will find areas
to visit that will teach you more about biliary atresia, organ
donation and you may even meet a few special children just like
Ashley. Learn who this website is dedicated to and why. Please
visit the fundraising section and find it in your heart to donate to
Ashley's Liver Transplant Fund; every little bit gets Ashley one
step closer to receiving her Gift of Life. And as always,
please don't forget to sign the guest book.
Thank you for caring about Ashley, your
love and prayers are a real blessing.
